In Daniela's words
Why I left the best job in the world.
In 2018, I first thought about leaving Google. When I told my leader, she flew from Mountain View to spend a weekend with my family in Switzerland, for one reason: to listen.
What I wanted was freedom to take what we'd learned about psychological safety through Project Aristotle beyond Google. She heard me, and gave me the room to start from the inside. So I stayed.
I felt completely seen and trusted, and I've never forgotten it.
That weekend was the whole point. It was what I had worked toward at Google, alongside my role as Head of Talent Engagement for EMEA: in my own organization of 120 people, and as a coach to leaders across Google. A place where people feel safe enough to tell the truth.
By 2021, I was ready to take that work to the organizations that needed it most. In January 2022, I founded The Human Space.
Because the moment people feel safe enough to be honest, everything starts to move.
